The prevention of fire in our wildland is important. Each time a fire is prevented, we save money, property, valuable natural resources, and possibly even lives. We all know individuals and organizations that have provided outstanding contributions to wildfire prevention. We want to recognize their outstanding service and accomplishments. You are the only one who can help identify these individuals and organizations, so they might receive the special recognition they deserve for their efforts.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR NOMINATION? Anyone can nominate any individual or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to the wildfire prevention program in his/her state or province. Recognized efforts included, but are not restricted to:
HOW TO NOMINATE Send a letter of no more than 500 words to the state or provincial Prevention Committee representative. This letter should contain:
WHEN TO SEND NOMINATIONS Nominations must be received by the state or provincial Prevention Committee Representative prior to February 1st. HOW AWARD SELECTIONS ARE MADE Nominations will be reviewed by the Prevention Committee and presented, with recommendations, to the Executive Board Chairperson prior to their winter meeting.is awarded to an organization or individual for outstanding service and support in the prevention of wildfires throughout the Great Lakes Forest Fire Compact area. No more than one Executive Board Award will be given per year. is given to individuals or non-commercial organizations from each state or province for special service in the prevention of wildfires. No more than two Individual/Association Awards may be awarded per year in each member state or province.is awarded to the commercial organization in each state or province that has demonstrated special service and support in wildfire prevention. No more than two Commercial Awards may be awarded per year in each member state or province. |
